Installation, privacy, and usage.
Yes. Quick Naming, Poetry Daily, Five Elements Lookup, and Favorites are all fully free — no paywall. The main site's AI name generation uses credits; new accounts get a starter grant, and more can be purchased on the pricing page.
HaoMingBao follows the principle of least privilege. It declares only storage (for favorites and settings) and contextMenus (for right-click saving) — no host_permissions, no content scripts, and no page reads. We collect and upload zero user data.
The extension is a lightweight browser entry point. All AI-powered generation runs on babynameai.org — API keys never ship in a reverse-engineerable extension bundle. Think of the extension as ‘shortcut + local favorites + daily inspiration’, and the main site as the naming studio.
Built on Chrome Manifest V3, the extension works in every Chromium-based browser: Google Chrome 88+, Microsoft Edge, Arc, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and others. Safari and Firefox are not supported yet.
Favorites live in chrome.storage.local inside your Chrome profile on the current device. If Chrome Sync is on, they follow your Google account across devices (that's a Chrome capability, not our server). Uninstalling the extension clears the data, so if you're switching machines, hit ‘Copy All’ first to export.
Chrome pulls updates from the Web Store automatically. You can also check manually at chrome://extensions. Release notes are published at /updates on the main site.
